Onsite Crushing 2018

In September of 2018 we hit the road with our crushing plant. After spending the last couple of years in our yard at Mt Rat stockpiling and then modifying and updating our plant in 2016 which took it out of action for most of the year. Once all the repairs were complete our yard was completely empty and it took us until mid 2018 to get enough stock on hand that we were comfortable leaving.

Our first stop was Koolywurtie, only a few kilometres from home to where there was a stockpile of rock that had come from old fence lines that had been removed and the rock carted and stockpiled several years earlier.

After this job at Koolywurtie we continued South, to a couple of kilometres South of Minlaton to a farm where we had stockpiled rock from the surrounding area earlier in the year with the intention of crushing them at a later date.
On some jobs we work with the land owner and clean up any rocks they may want to get rid of and sell the gravel directly off of the crusher or cart it back to our yard at Mt Rat to be sold as required.
From Minlaton we continued further south towards the Bublacowie area where we had two jobs next door to each other.

From Bublacowie we headed towards Brentwood for one more stop.
Our final stop was to a farm in-between Brentwood and Hardwicke Bay. Over the last few years we had been working with the land owner to clean up and stockpile rock which was scattered across their newly purchased farm in big and small piles, along fence lines and around patches of scrub.
It was late December when we setup and started crushing. We finished 2018 crushing and stockpiling the gravel onsite and carting some of the gravel back to our yard at Mt Rat as the trucks were running back and forth.
In early 2019 we became very busy with on farm earthmoving as we do every year between Harvest and Seeding as the paddocks are accessible. The crushing was put on hold until we were able to catch up on the earthmoving work which was around April. The next few months we concentrated on crushing on the same site between Brentwood and Hardwicke Bay. Stockpiling onsite, selling the gravel direct from the crusher and carting some of the gravel back to Mt Rat.
Once we had completed the stockpile of rock our crushing plant was in need of some routine maintenance so it was decided it would be best to shift home and carry out any needed repairs.

After our maintenance was complete, we setup in our yard at Mt Rat and finished 2019 crushing and re stocking. We hope to get back on the road and head south again soon.
